UMLAUF After Dark | Lunar New Year

February 1

This event happens on the first of the month and features beer from Austin Beerworks and cocktails from Tito’s Vodka. Celebrate the Lunar New Year, complete with live music and traditional Lion Dancers.

Special Olympics Texas 2022 Winter Games

February 18-20

The Bee Cave and Lakeway area will host the Special Olympics Texas Winter games, which will include powerlifting, volleyball, cycling, golf, and floorball. Due to the pandemic, this will be the first statewide Special Olympics event since 2020.

6th Annual Lez Prom

February 26

Celebrate love at this annual night of celebration for queer self-identified women and non-binary folks! There will be dancing and drinking as well as DJ Gemayel, who will be playing dance hits throughout the decades and slow songs, too. Attendees are encouraged to wear formal attire like you would at a school prom.

Jamel Shabazz: Peace to the Queen Exhibit Opening

Head to the George Washington Carver Museum to explore the work of photographer, humanitarian, and educator Jamel Shabazz. The exhibit will feature decades of his work that focuses on portraits of women of color.

OUTsider Fest 2022

February 16-20

Enjoy getting offline at this LGBTQ+ festival. The theme for February is ‘offline’, and the organizers are drawing inspiration from the DIY culture of the ‘90s underground scene. This event will take place at the innovative VORTEX  theater space.

Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash

If you live up north, you won’t have to go far for a night of tunes. The Georgetown Palace Theatre is putting on a Johnny Cash musical with a variety of dates in February. The musical features a number of famous songs, like “I Walk The Line,” “A Boy Named Sue,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and more.

15th Annual Puppy Bowl

February 12

The month of love can sometimes have people feeling low, but we know something that always helps — puppies! Courtesy of HEB, the Austin Humane Society and Yard Bar will be hosting this much-loved event complete with tailgate eats, puppy races, Super Bowl puppy predictions, pet adoptions, and of course Puppy Bowl LIVE.

Oscar Muñoz: Invisibilia

View the opening of this major exhibition featuring the work of Colombian artist Oscar Muñoz. The exhibition will highlight 40 works from the 1970s to the present day, including charcoal drawings, photography, and other mediums.
