Enjoy a family-friendly festival that’s a benefit for The Kindness Campaign (a nonprofit that creates positive, accessible tools to build emotional health at home and in the classroom) and features art, mindfulness activities, and more. 

The Harlem Globetrotters Spread Game Tour

If you haven’t been to a Harlem Globetrotters game, you’re missing out! They’re packed full of spectacle and showmanship. 

The Plastic Bag Store

This installation uses humor, craft, and immersive film technology to take a look at single-use plastics. Hand-sculpted products come to life through puppetry and backed by music. 

ABC Kite Fest

Waterloo Greenway Presents Pop-Up Picnic

This annual event boasts food, music, and sunset views, all while supporting the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy. This organization is dedicated to creating public parks and spaces in Austin.

CAP10K

Originally a one-day bluegrass festival, this is now a four-day festival that highlights bluegrass, folk, and Americana artists.

Austin Reggae Fest

April 22-24

The Austin Reggae Fest will be held at Auditorium Shores for three days of incredible music. The Austin Reggae Festival benefits the Central Texas Food Bank in its mission to feed thousands in Travis County and other surrounding regions. 

Queer Spectrum Screening: Sweetheart

April 27

A 2021 Audience Award winner at the Glasgow Film Festival, this coming-of-age film will be screened at the Galaxy Highland 10.

Eeyore’s Annual Birthday Party

April 30

The 57th annual Eeyore’s Birthday celebration returns to make Austin a little weirder. Eeyore’s Birthday Party is a fundraiser operated by the Friends of the Forest Foundation to benefit local non-profit groups in Austin. Entry to this wonderfully odd micro-festival is free and features music, drum circles, local vendors, and other activities.

“Out of the House” Spring Homes Tour

April 30

This tour is presented by Preservation Austin, and they’ve been doing the spring homes tour since 1993. The event is their main fundraiser, and this year attendees can look inside Austin sites like the newly-restored 1930s Travis County Probate Courthouse and the Baker School, now home to the headquarters of Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas.

Disney on Ice: Let’s Celebrate

April 28-May 1

Celebrate the magic as 50 Disney characters hit the ice for singing and skating. There will be classic favorites like Woody and Buzz, Timon and Pumbaa, and even Elsa and Olaf.
